Designed for applications where flame-retardant properties matter, PETG-FR combines the familiar performance of PETG with added fire-resistant characteristics.
To prevent moisture absorption and contamination, keep the filament in its original airtight packaging until ready for use. After opening, any unsued filament should be re-sealed with dessicant before storage. PETG-FR is sensitive to moisture and should be dried (65°C for ~12 hours) before printing for best results. Avoid heat, dust and direct sunlight to prevent degredation.

Frequently Asked
Questions
What makes PETG-FR different from standard PETG?
PETG-FR is formulated with flame-retardant additives that give it self-extinguishing characteristics, while retaining PETG’s high strength, toughness and dimensional stability. This makes it a specialised option for applications where flame-retardant properties are important.
Does PETG-FR stop burning when the flame is removed?
PETG-FR has self-extinguishing characteristics, meaning it is designed to stop sustaining a flame after the ignition source is removed. However, flame-retardant performance can depend on the printed part and printing conditions, so it should not be assumed to meet a specific fire-safety standard unless the finished part has been appropriately tested.
Can I print PETG-FR using normal PETG settings?
As a modified PETG, it can be printed using similar principles to standard PETG, but we recommend following the specific temperature and other settings provided for PETG-FR.
What is PETG-FR best used for?
PETG-FR is particularly suited to electronic and electrical housings, automotive interior components, appliance casings and other functional parts where flame-retardant characteristics are desirable alongside PETG's strength and durability.
